International journeys to Camphill

Beaver Run and Beaver Farm are two wonderful communities that together make up Camphill Special School. Both places are part and parcel of beautiful Chester County and embedded in the local life of southeastern Pennsylvania. Perhaps our best kept secret is that our school is also part of a network of communities serving children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities that spans the globe. As host of the Camphill School of Curative Education and Social Therapy, we are also a global center for those training to become Curative Educators, with students coming from the US as well as Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

The international scope of the Camphill movement can be felt in the homes and classrooms at Beaver Run and Beaver Farm. The educational and social experience our students and staff members have is of a rich and diverse world where cultures are able to mix in wonderful and creative ways, where geography becomes a living experience, and world history and current events become personally shared and experienced.

Our school is truly a crossroads where wonderful people from every corner of the globe come to share, to learn, and to live together. This is a miracle that we never tire of, and a real gift to the children who, by living in a quiet corner of Pennsylvania, are also becoming true citizens of the world.
